At last we get to see the new version of the Viper rackets for the 2022 season. After the success of the previously renewed collection, we find rackets that are practically similar, but noticeably more attractive.

Differences between the three Babolat Viper 2022 rackets
Before analysing them one by one, it is worth naming the 3 basic differences between these 3 rackets:
Core: All 3 use the same multilayer core.
Surface:
- Technical Viper: 12k carbon
- Air Viper: 16k carbon
- Counter Viper: 3k carbon
Shape:
- Technical Viper: Diamond
- Air Viper: Teardrop
- Counter Viper: Round
These differences within the same Viper range make each one ideal for a particular playing style. That said, we must be VERY CLEAR that these are rackets designed for players with an offensive style and for whom playing technique is no longer a problem. If we don’t have a sufficient level of play, we may well find ourselves uncomfortable with the new Babolat collection.
Babolat Technical Viper 2022
The classic Babolat power racket, used by Juan Lebrón this 2022 season. Made with a diamond/teardrop shape, it offers a high balance ideal for left-side players who spend most of their time close to the net.
Its tubular frame is 100% carbon, and the surface uses the famous 12k carbon that is proving so popular lately in rackets such as the Nox AT10 or Bullpadel Vertex. Inside we find a triple-layer core that provides good ball output on soft shots and great power or stiffness on fast, intense shots.
Babolat Air Viper 2022
Using the same core as its sister the Technical, it includes 16k carbon which, to our taste, is somewhat more flexible than the 12k, so it conveys a less rigid feel than the Technical Viper. Inside, the core is similar to its sisters, but you do notice a more intermediate shape and a lower weight, which helps a lot if we are not so strongly built or simply don’t put that much power into our game.
It is also an attacking racket and the optimal hitting zone is in the upper part of the racket.
Babolat Counter Viper 2022
Perhaps the most different of the three Viper 2022 rackets. This is due to its rounded shape, which clearly provides a very comfortable low balance at the back of the court. We must bear in mind that, combined with the 3k carbon (in our opinion, stiffer than the rest), the result is a hard-feeling racket that offers spectacular power for what is a “control racket”.
Lastly, the look of the three Babolat Viper rackets has improved considerably, making them more attractive and recognisable from a distance.
